Narek Ekmekjyan, Vice President, Optimum Seismic

Narek Ekmekjyan oversees all operational, customer support and finance functions within Optimum Seismic. He has vast experience in the contracting industry, including construction of residential, commercial and government projects. Narek holds an MBA from the A. Gary Anderson Graduate School of Management at the University of California, Riverside and B.A. in Economics from Yerevan State University of America.

Ron Kingston, President California Strategic Advisors

Ron Kingston is a highly respected and very knowledgeable California lobbyist with thirty years of experience. His expertise includes banking, real estate finance and insurance, local government, natural resources and water, revenue and taxation, housing, environmental quality, and real estate issues, policy, and law.

His broad knowledge of issues and his solid working relationships with persons in key positions allow him to offer sophisticated policy intelligence and strategic analysis that is both applicable and accurate. He has written dozens of bills and has an enactment success rate of 94 percent.

A long-time resident of Northern California, Ron earned his academic degrees from the University of California at Davis. He is President of the California Strategic Advisors and, in this capacity, has been retained by national bond companies, statewide common-interest development financial planning corporations, and trade associations representing national and state homeowners’ associations, real estate developers, real estate associations, and regional apartment associations.

Before becoming President of California Strategic Advisors and a lobbyist for the largest trade association in the nation, Ron was a committee consultant with the California State Legislature. He has served on numerous state committees and task forces and has been an invited speaker at many local, regional, state meetings and public hearings.

Dennis P. Block, Dennis P. Block & Associates

Attorney Dennis Block, of the Law Firm of Dennis P. Block & Associates, specializes in tenant eviction. The firm started in 1976 exclusively represents landlords in tenant eviction cases.  Dennis has successfully performed over 175,000 evictions. His clients range from the federal government, municipalities, banking institutions, real estate management companies and, of course, mom and pop income property owners.

Dennis is dedicated to serving the legal interests of landlords and income property owners whose property is in the State of California. He received his Bachelor Degree from California State University, Northridge, and earned his Juris Doctorate Degree from Whittier College, School of Law.

Dennis gives numerous seminars to attorneys, real estate groups and landlords and has a weekly radio show every Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. on KTYM 1460 am radio.  He is also a rental property owner himself.

Susan Shelley, Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association

Susan Shelley is the Vice President of Communications for the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association, the most influential taxpayer advocacy group in California. She’s also a twice-weekly opinion columnist and a member of the editorial board of the Southern California News Group, eleven daily papers including the Orange County Register, the Long Beach Press-Telegram and the Los Angeles Daily News.

Before joining the Southern California News Group, Susan was a candidate for the California Assembly, an endeavor that brought her into contact with many individuals and businesses that were dealing with problems caused by government policies. She stayed active in public affairs, becoming the president of Valley VOTE, a nonpartisan civic organization in the San Fernando Valley that seeks to inform the community about important local and state issues.
